ARI said it has reached a milestone for distributing information through its ARI Update Service. The company works with dealers, distributors and manufacturers by providing eCommerce websites, search engine marketing and electronic catalogs.
ARI has been working over the last 12 months on an initiative to allow PartSmart subscribers to download and install catalog updates via the Internet. About 90 per cent of its PartSmart OEM catalogs are now enabled for web-based updates via ARI Update Service.
“ARI distributed over 250,000 sets of discs last year to more than 18,000 equipment dealers,” said Jon Lintvet, vice president of product and chief marketing officer, in a statement. “This approach presented several challenges for ARI and its subscribers.”
Lintvet said ARI clients did not have access to updated catalogs as easily or frequently as they could find them online. They also did not update catalogs because of time constraints in installing new discs. “Finally, it drove material cost and fulfillment complexity into the business,” said Lintvet.
The ARI Update service, according to Lintvet, will now reduce installation time, lower costs and make sure that customers have current information on pricing and parts.
