The UK boatbuilder has started the year with over £5m in new boat sales.
The UK’s Discovery Yachts has announced the sale of its first three Discovery 57 blue-water cruising yachts.
Designed by Ron Holland, with a Ken Freivokh interior, the new 17m (57ft) performance cruiser had its design launch at the 2011 Southampton International Boat Show in September.
Since then, the yacht has attracted “exceptional sales interest” from both European and international purchasers, says Discovery.
The company has also signed two new contracts for the Discovery 55. This brings the total value of new boat sales for 2012 to more than £5m.
Discovery Yachts employs around 100 people at its site in Marchwood, Hampshire. The company's portfolio includes the Discovery 55, 57 and 67 monohulls, as well as the Discovery 50 catamaran.
