 Fairline names new head of marketing

Oliver Winbolt takes on the role in March.
The UK’s Fairline Boats has appointed Oliver Winbolt as the group’s new head of marketing, effective March 1, 2012.
Winbolt, who first joined the company in 2005 as chief engineer, is fluent in French, German and Italian. He replaces Fairline's current head of marketing, Miles Moorhouse.

“In Oliver we have a highly experienced Fairline team member whose knowledge, passion and enthusiasm for the brand will be invaluable to lead a product-focused global marketing strategy,” says sales and marketing director James Robinson.

“He will have the support of our existing marketing and PR resources and continue to work closely with our design team to promote our market-leading motoryachts.”

Fairline was acquired by UK-based investment firm Better Capital in a joint venture with the Royal Bank of Scotland in July. Since then, accounts for the year ended December 2010 show a 27 per cent drop in turnover and bottom line losses of £11.4m.
