James Grazebrook honoured for services to the UK marine industry.
James Grazebrook, chairman of UK-based exhaust manufacturer Halyard Marine (M&I) Ltd, has been given an OBE in the Queen's New Year's Honours List for services to the British marine industry.
An OBE (Order of the British Empire) is a title awarded to UK civilians for public service and contributions to the nation.
Grazebrook founded Halyard in 1979, establishing a marine engineering company dedicated to the reduction of engine noise in the leisure and small commercial marine sectors. With headquarters in Salisbury and manufacturing sites in Portsmouth and Ferndown, the company employs around 75 people.
Halyard has also been awarded two Queens Awards for Enterprise, and is a major exporter of bespoke systems to superyachts and vessels worldwide.
Since starting Halyard, Grazebrook has been extensively involved in the British marine industry, serving as chairman of the Southampton and London boat shows and more recently as president of the British Marine Federation (BMF). Following this he was founding chairman of European marine industry group EURMIG, representing the entire European leisure marine sector in Brussels.
