Air-conditioning and sanitation specialist Dometic Marine has recently supplied its Marine Air chilled water equipment for Horizon Yachts’ new 58 CAT.Built at the Horizon yard in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, the high-performance multihull yacht has been installed with a four-stage compact chiller to provide 96,000 BTUs for cooling and heating of all cabin and accommodation areas.
The system installation on the new 58 CAT will be customised to include Dometic’s SmartStart controls, which reduce chiller starting amperage to ease the strain on the yacht’s generator.
“Through a broad product range and over 50 years’ experience in the field, we are able to work closely with builders to identify the solution which best fits the application,” says Ben Haynes, international technical sales manager at Dometic Marine.
“If we don’t have a standard system available, we are also able to design and build a solution that satisfies the yacht’s unique cooling and engine room space needs.”
Dometic Marine builds air-conditioning, toilet, refrigeration, galley and other equipment for high-profile OEMs globally. Through its Marine Air brand, the company supplies an extensive range of HVAC equipment to Horizon, including chilled water, direct expansion split gas and self-contained systems.
