Barry Bailey will represent the US builder in the region
Rhode Island-based Hunt Yachts has appointed Barry Bailey as its Asia-Pacific representative. Bailey is based in Queensland, Australia.
“Based on the global popularity of the Hunt line, we are excited about focusing in this market,” says Peter VanLancker, president, in a statement. “Barry’s experience, and knowledge of the yachting clientele in the region, will be valuable assets to raise our profile, build the Hunt brand, and drive our expansion plans in this growth market.”
Bailey has nearly 30 years of experience in marine manufacturing and retailing. He co-founded Maritime Consultants & Management (MCM) in Hong Kong, handling large yacht construction and management contracts worldwide. Through MCM, he formed an affiliation with Brunswick Corporation, locating dealers for its Sea Ray, Baja and Bayliner brands. Bailey became Brunswick’s Asia-Pacific Manager of Operations in 2000. Over the last four years he has handled international sales for Cobalt Boats, Grady-White and Sumerset Houseboats.
Bailey will focus on sales of new Hunts and pre-owned yachts through Hunt’s brokerage Division. He will also represent the company at major boat shows in the Asia-Pacific region.
