METS and the SuperYacht Pavilion are scheduled for 16-17-18 November 2010. As the show floor nears sell-out, it promises to be another great show.

The DAME celebrates its 20th anniversary and we prepare to look back and into the future as exhibitors showcase state-of-the-art innovations.

The even years traditionally host the HISWA Symposium on Yacht Design and Yacht Construction, this year covering an especially hot topic: sustainability.

We look forward to seeing you in Amsterdam in November.

Kind regards,

Project Team METS/SYP

HISWA Symposium
METS HOST 21ST HISWA SYMPOSIUM ON YACHT DESIGN AND YACHT CONSTRUCTION

The 21st International HISWA Symposium on Yacht Design and Yacht Construction will highlight the increasingly important role of 'sustainability' in the design of yachts and superyachts. The symposium will run the day before METS/SYP on 15 November and continue on 16 November.

The conference is influenced by two important studies in association with the Netherlands Organisation for Applied Scientific Research (TNO). The first, spearheaded by the world-renowned Feadship Group, analysed energy management and the 'ecological footprint' of yachting and yacht building. The second study looked at the durability of certain construction materials - wood, aluminium, steel and polyester - to determine which has the lowest environmental impact.

The symposium also zooms in on new developments in hybrid power systems and discusses how best to make use of such systems. The HISWA Symposium is an initiative of HISWA, Delft and Amsterdam RAI, sponsored by MARIN, Amels Vlissingen, Royal Huisman and Feadship.
