Conferences and stages
The traditional kick-off of the METSTRADE show will be held on November 15th 2022. We are pleased to announce that TED Fellow and ICAS Aerospace Innovation Award recipient, Cory Combs, will deliver the Breakfast Keynote Speech. In “Paragon or Pariah? Sustainability Challenges and Opportunities from the Sky to the Sea”, Combs will explain a key takeaway from his experience at Ampaire – to start small and iterate with the technology and infrastructure that exists today, rather than waiting for silver bullet solutions. Cory’s presentation on how leisure marine can become a model for introducing innovation in sustainability will be followed by the keenly awaited announcement of the 2022 DAME Design Award winners.

Get Ready for OneNet - The High-Bandwidth Marine Ethernet Solution
The OneNet Standard is now released and provides manufacturers a common network infrastructure for marine devices and/or services on IPv6. All OneNet application protocols, such as PGN Messages, are designed to use a standard IPv6 network protocol stack. NMEA OneNet brings new levels of flexibility using IPv6 and the IEEE 802.3 Ethernet Local Area Network. OneNet provides a common network infrastructure for marine devices and can support high-bandwidth applications such as audio/video data transport.
Wednesday November 16, 1300-1430, Room D201
NMEA 2000 Field Applications
The NMEA 2000 Standard has grown to be the main data interface in the recreational marine industry. In this session, new NMEA 2000 message suites and their applications will be outlined for electric propulsion, lighting control, and remote vessel monitoring. The modern vessel and its users want to control all aspects of the boat from the Multi-Function Display (MFD) located at all helms and other critical areas. NMEA 2000 provides the means for certified electronic components and sensors on the vessel that can report status or provide user control to be viewed on certified displays.
