Breakfast Briefing

The Breakfast Briefing; the traditional kick-off the of the METSTRADE show, will be held on November 16th 2021. This briefing includes a keynote speech and, of course, the long awaited ceremony for the world-famous competition for marine equipment, the DAME Design Award. Exhibitors can enter the competition later this year.


Keynote Speaker to be announced

   During METSTRADE 2019, Feadship Director Henk de Vries, one of the leading figures in the superyacht world gave the keynote     
   speech held at the opening ceremony. De Vries brought his inimitable style and decades of experience to the event as he spoke to
   an audience of 600 delegates on the subject of how to successfully grow a family company and make it sustainable for the future.

A platform for boat builders, designers, architects and engineers alike

The Construction Material Pavilion, treating the many aspects of marine construction, is dedicated to some topical subjects: the new materials and construction techniques for boats and yachts and the end-of-life of FRP materials: developing industry, a business worth millions of Euros.

The pavilion, stage and showcases together form a forum for the exchange of knowledge and ideas about marine construction between technicians and yacht designers,

  across disciplines and countries. The various sessions on stage allow the public to interact with and learn from speakers and from   
  each other, to gain an understanding of the latest environmental, technical and regulatory issues. Find out below what we have on
  offer during The METSTRADE Show.

Construction in process stage

The Construction Material Pavilion (CMP) of the METSTRADE show is the specialist platform for raw materials and composites for the leisure marine industry. It is the perfect place to get inspired about innovative materials and how to use them. Participants of the 2018 edition were: Wessex Resins, Adhesives Limited, SCIGRIP UK, Gurit and Diab International AB.

Round table on boat construction and materials

The Round Table on boat construction and materials sessions focuses on two relevant topics related to new materials and construction techniques for all types of boats and yachts: ‘Fatigue behaviour of composite vessels under slamming’ and ‘How to improve composite design thanks to better failure understanding – the latest news on the Recycling of (iberglass Reinforced Plastic (FRP) boats.’ The Round Table offers an opportunity for technicians and yacht designers to exchange knowledge and ideas, while also giving the public a chance to interact with the speakers and gain a better understanding of the latest technical topics.

HISWA Marina Symposium

The eighth edition of the HISWA Marina Symposium will take place on Thursday the 21th of November, the last day of METSTRADE 2019. The event is a must for those working in the marina and yard branch of the industry, as relevant and recent developments withing the industry will be addressed. There will be speakers who will talk indepth about a variety of interesting topics and they will be followed up by a panel discussion where the audience is asked to participate. HISWA Holland Marine Industry is organising this symposium exclusively for its members, both inside and outside the marina industry. There are a few seats available for non-member guest who can apply on the website of the HISWA at a later stage.

NMEA electronics seminars

The NMEA presents several seminar sessions on new electronics and technology in the marine industry. The programme of these seminars changes every year, because it focusses on the newest hot topics. Please note that registration is required to attend these sessions.
