Breakfast Briefing

The Breakfast Briefing; the traditional kick-off the of the METSTRADE show, will be held on November 16th 2021. This briefing includes a keynote speech and, of course, the long awaited ceremony for the world-famous competition for marine equipment, the DAME Design Award. Exhibitors can enter the competition later this year.

Keynote Speaker to be announced

During METSTRADE 2019, Feadship Director Henk de Vries, one of the leading figures in the superyacht world gave the keynote speech held at the opening ceremony. De Vries brought his inimitable style and decades of experience to the event as he spoke to an audience of 600 delegates on the subject of how to successfully grow a family company and make it sustainable for the future.

Construction in process

A platform for boat builders, designers, architects and engineers alike

The Construction Material Pavilion, treating the many aspects of marine construction, is dedicated to some topical subjects: the new materials and construction techniques for boats and yachts and the end-of-life of FRP materials: developing industry, a business worth millions of Euros.

The pavilion, stage and showcases together form a forum for the exchange of knowledge and ideas about marine construction between technicians and yacht designers,

across disciplines and countries. The various sessions on stage allow the public to interact with and learn from speakers and from each other, to gain an understanding of the latest environmental, technical and regulatory issues. Find out below what we have on offer during The METSTRADE Show.

Construction in process stage

The Construction Material Pavilion (CMP) of the METSTRADE show is the specialist platform for raw materials and composites for the leisure marine industry. It is the perfect place for boat builders, designers, architects and engineers to get inspired about innovative materials and how to use them. Furthermore to exchange knowledge and ideas with peers about boat construction. Some subjects to be addressed : the new materials and construction techniques for boats and yachts and the end-of-life of FRP materials, the latest environmental, technical and regulatory issues. The Construction in Process Stage located in the Construction Material Pavilion serves as an interactive platform,

where CMP exhibitors give a short demonstration on their production process and present new solutions in their field of expertise and simultaneously share in-depth knowledge with a group of people. Participants of the 2019 edition were: Wessex Resins, Adhesives Limited, SEARTEX, Gurit and Diab International AB. 

HISWA Marina Symposium

This year’s METSTRADE will aim to host a new edition of the HISWA Marina Symposium, a successful cooperation between METSTRADE and HISWA Holland Marine Industry for the past years. The Symposium will be part of the Marina & Yard Pavilion, the pavilion dedicated to equipment for the global network of marinas and associated boatyards. 

The HISWA Marina Symposium will focus on actual developments for marinas and leisure charter companies, with themes like sustainability, attracting new-boaters to marinas and the future challenges for water tourism. 

HISWA Holland Marine Industry is organizing this Marina Symposium exclusively for all its members. The symposium is Dutch spoken.

GMI Certified Members Global Meeting

British Marine and the Marina Industries Association (MIA) have the intention to host another  GMI Certified Members Global Meeting at METSTRADE to discuss trending topics and developments for marinas worldwide and network with marina professionals.  GMI members can contact education@marinas.net.au or Training@britishmarine.co.uk for further information. During METSTRADE 2019, Feadship Director Henk de Vries, one of the leading figures in the superyacht world gave the keynote speech held at the opening ceremony.

The NMEA presents several seminar sessions on new electronics and technology in the marine industry. The programme of these seminars changes every year, because it focusses on the newest hot topics. Please note that registration is required to attend these sessions.
