A heading can be determined in one of two ways: by looking straight down the compass and reading the angle shown with the magnifying lens, or by holding the compass near the eye and reading down the line of sight. It features a two-colored photo luminescent card that's numbered every 5 degrees and provides battery-free illumination.

This state-of-the-art combination consolidates mast wiring, has a compact footprint, and does not include bearings or moving parts that would wear down over time. The wind sensor measures wind speed and direction for output to NMEA 0183 (or NMEA 2000 with adapter).
