Driving innovation in the superyacht sector

Every year, Metstrade actively pursues their goal for superyacht builders to continue this growth trajectory and stay ahead of the competition,” and to provide “a unique opportunity to uncover new products and innovations which add value in areas such as enhancing the onboard experience and providing the key differentiation and USPs that buyers are seeking.

Expanding the event space

Now, Metstrade is not just relying on what works, nor only creating space for the standard themes. Where the annual event normally has ten halls, this year they’ve expanded the event with an additional hall, responding both to customer demand and filling a gap in the market. The extra hall allocate space for fine dining and networking, a Superyacht Stage to share insights on the latest technologies, and a Captains' Club.

The addition of the Captains' Club stems from an observed gap in the market. There are conventions and expositions for (super)yachts, technology and innovation, as well as design. For captains and senior crew, there seems to be little opportunity and space to connect, share knowledge, and exchange ideas on how to better manage a yacht and crew.

Sharing of knowledge

Once a (super)yacht is cruising through azure waters or traversing the Atlantic Ocean, she is in the hands of the captain and crew. It is the captain and senior crew who is responsible for keeping the team afloat, organised and determine the best routes. Yet there is nowhere for them to share their knowledge.

With the creation of the Captain’s Club at this year’s Metstrade, an opportunity is being created for the experts of the onboard yachting experience to share their knowledge, tips, and tricks. Metstrade has organised exclusive networking and educational opportunities for superyacht captains and senior crew, as well as one-on-one matchmaking sessions, educational workshops, and networking events. Not alone during Metstrade but also during The Superyacht Forum which start on Monday 17 November.

Networking and education opportunities

In the Captains' Club, captains will find ample networking opportunities with industry professionals, manufacturers, suppliers, senior crew and fellow captains; this time both on the show floor and in the special space allocated to the Captains' Club. The aim is to organise an exclusive offering seminars, workshops, and presentations covering critical topics for captains. Providing valuable insights into the latest industry trends and best practices with a more hands-on learning experience.
