Armare Ropes is proud to announce the achievement of an important company milestone: Armare is the first company in the nautical-marine sector worldwide to develop and certify two EPDs (Environmental Product Declarations) for its ropes. With over two hundred years of history, Armare has chosen to use one of the most modern and sophisticated tools to publicly and scientifically demonstrate the environmental sustainability of its products. This initiative is a concrete sign of the company's commitment to establishing itself as a leader in terms of product sustainability and circularity

Amare S.r.l. is specialized in the design, production and distribution of ropes, generally used in the industrial
sector, with a specific focus on the nautical and marine fields. The products are internationally distributed under
the “Armare Ropes” brand. The company, based in San Giorgio di Nogaro (Udine) in northeastern Italy, boasts
over two centuries of history. The art of rope-making has been passed down through generations, leading to
Stefano Finco, the current CEO, who has guided the company’s growth and development for the past thirty years.
Under his leadership, Armare Ropes has gained recognition as a premium international brand.
The company's strong focus on environmental issues has consistently guided its decisions over the years. The
"Armare Ropes" brand was born and developed around the "rope" product, and over the years meticulous
attention to every detail of its production has allowed the company to meet the evolving needs of its
customers. Even today, Armare’s management continues the company's legacy with passion and
responsibility, respecting the environment and promoting the same values that have guided the company’s
leaders over time.
The desire to produce high-quality ropes while minimizing environmental impact required the adoption of
sophisticated process analysis tools aimed at verifying the entire life cycle of the products (LCA), focusing on
sustainability, recycling, and circularity concepts.
Armare S.r.l. is thus the first company worldwide to have developed an EPD (Environmental Product
Declaration) for components in the nautical-marine sector with approved PCR. EPDs represent a
significant milestone in sustainability, providing a transparent and quantified assessment of the
environmental impacts associated with the product life cycle.
By issuing the EPDs for two representative products from its range, Armare aims to demonstrate its concrete
commitment to reducing environmental impacts, providing detailed information on various aspects such as
resource use, greenhouse gas emissions, water consumption, and waste production. This initiative enhances
the sustainability of Armare’s products and also responds to the growing demands for transparency and
environmental responsibility from the market and consumers.
The certified quality of our products thus combines with their functionality, reliability, and high performance;
these aspects are the result of a new product vision, designed considering not only its functionality but also its
impacts throughout its life cycle.
Armare’s Technical Department has developed an online software, available to all its customers, allowing them
to calculate and compare the environmental impact of different products in the Armare rope range. This
softwarel is based on the strict LCA (Life Cycle Assessment) calculation methods that led to the issuance of
the two product EPDs, making it reliable, repeatable, and representative of progress in this area.
From now on, every rope produced by Armare can be provided with information related to its CO2 footprint.
Upon request, certified EPDs for specific products can be issued following customer needs.
By visiting the website www.armareropes.com, you can access sections dedicated to the environment,
download the two EPDs referring to the 10mm "Star" and 6mm "Dyneforce 78" products, and use the
Environmental Footprint Calculator to check and compare different products. You can also access the
Mapping LCA virtual area, a meeting point for sustainability experts where, where you can enjoy information
and insights about sustainability within a 3D virtual environment.
As a manufacturing company, we are aware that the impact of our choices is significant in terms of
environmental impact. With this important first step, Armare Ropes is committed to spreading a culture of
sustainability in the nautical and marine sector, promoting a true paradigm shift for a better future.
