Digital Yacht launch iKreate NMEA 2000 Simulator at METS '25
by Nicolas Guerin13 November 20252 min read
Consisting of the new USB-NMEA 2000 interface and an HTML5 based app, the iKreate simulator can generate any number of NMEA2000 PGNs or replay saved log files of real-life network data from any NMEA2000 system, regardless of brand
For anyone involved in designing, manufacturing or installing marine electronics, the ability to simulate or replay NMEA2000 data is a real advantage and can accelerate software development, demonstrate NMEA2000 devices or help diagnose network issues.
With more and more modern boats having an NMEA2000 network at the heart of their navigation system, it is really important that you have the tools to investigate the devices and data on the network should things not work as planned.
Just like the Digital Yacht NMEA2000 Display App, the new iKreate Simulator takes a new approach and is the World’s first multi-platform, browser based NMEA2000 Simulator App that will run on Windows, LINUX, Mac OSX and Raspbian. There is no installation and if you can save a file and find it again, then that is as complex as it gets with just a single HTML5 file to worry about.
Key features:
Create individual NMEA 2000 PGNs from drop down list populated with the data you enter or play back a NMEA 2000 log file captured by a Digital Yacht NMEA 2000 product etc from an on-board system
Multiple PGN groups can be created and even saved for future use
Data variance function can synthesise changing values
No complicated software to install – just a simple file for Chrome, Edge, Opera or Chromium
Functions on PC, MAC and Linux platforms – simple USB connection
Set SRC address and instance
Integrated 0.8m NMEA 2000 and 0.8m USB cable
Available with USB C connector (USB A option)
iKreate is priced at £200/€260 and is shipping now. More information on Digital Yacht websites
