We created Triac Composites with a clear purpose: to build world-class composite products - boats, train interiors, aerospace components - you name it, we can do it.

From day one, the focus was advanced manufacturing. Trimarans were our passion, but Triac was built to go much further - to deliver precision-built carbon fiber structures using our 7 axis Kuka milling robot on its 23m track, 8m x 2m autoclave, prepreg materials, and 100 skilled and passionate staff.

Triac isn’t limited to boats. We've worked with clients in Europe, South East Asia, USA and Australasia for projects including electric foiling ferries, standard ferries, crew support vessels, and even experimental projects that blend aviation and marine technologies.

Precision Manufacturing with Autoclave and Robotics

Autoclave-Cured Components

"Our 8.5-meter autoclave is central to the process. It allows us to cure large, complex components under heat and pressure, resulting in stronger, lighter, void-free laminates." 

From masts to foils, it's the same technology used in aerospace.

7-Axis Robotic Production

Triac uses a 7-axis KUKA robot on a 23-meter track to produce tooling and critical parts with precision. From cutting foil openings in masts to trimming parts, it ensures speed, accuracy, and repeatability at a level manual labor simply can't match.


In-House Tooling Expertise

Unlike many builders who outsource, Triac designs and builds all its tooling in-house. "That gives us total control over quality and design changes, and ensures we’re not dependent on overseas suppliers."


Carbon Fiber Masts: Spreaderless, Tapered, and Autoclaved

Our masts (up to 25m) are built with prepreg carbon, tapered in two directions to optimize strength and weight. They're spreaderless, reducing rigging complexity, and are designed exclusively for our high-performance trimarans.


These masts are cured in sections in our autoclave and then spliced together with precision. It's a process made possible only through years of specialized experience.

Asymmetrical Sea Foils: Aerospace-Level Performance

Triac builds asymmetrical C foils that deliver powerful lift - like airplane wings for the sea. 

Each foil undergoes three autoclave cycles and three robotic passes to achieve the exact tolerances and shape needed for high-speed sailing.

Carbon fiber, spreaderless mast cured in autoclave

This is the mast for the 40ft, Rapido 40 RACER boat.


(The mast is) pretty unique because it’s tapered in two directions; like it’s tapered fore and aft and tapered from the sides. So, the idea is that you minimize the weight of the mast – and it’s spreaderless.

It was designed to be spreaderless from day one for our boats.

It just makes life easier when you’re sailing.

They’re asymmetric.

You can see the shape of them. Yeah, they get incredible lift and performance.

But the process we use… we could not build them without a robot – or an autoclave.

So they (the foils) go in the autoclave three times and on the robot three times in the process of building them. You know, to buy that in Europe, it would be double the price of what we build them for.

John McIntosh: These go down through the amas (floats) and come out here?

Paul Koch: Yes, they come out here. (The foils) give you a lot more lift because it’s like an aeroplane wing; its asymmetrical. So you get a lot more lift because of the shape.

This race boat will probably do 30 knots – I’ve done 25 knots on a standard 40. This has got a bigger rig and is a ton lighter. It will be incredibly quick.

The (foils etc) come from America’s Cup stuff. Morrelli & Melvin designed it. You know, they’ve been doing America’s Cup stuff and were involved in the last campaign with American Magic. Two guys (at Morrelli & Melvin) were full time. So, the guys that are designing that stuff design our boats basically.

And yeah, the loads are incredible because the whole boat’s flying on that foil, you know. Not literally flying, but you get a massive amount of lift when you’re going fast. You see the floats rise up in the water.

If you’re pushing hard, doing 25 knots, the whole float is out of the water (whereas) normally, it’d be buried under the water.
