Understanding the Cyber Threat – On Board and On Land
With an ever increasing demand for digital comms during the past few years, accelerated by the pandemic, are companies and yachts really aware of the real threats that are out there, even via a simple mobile phone. This session will discuss the issues and how to plan and mitigate the risk.
The session consists of a 30 minutes TechTalk and a 15 minutes AfterTalk. The TechTalk is open to everyone, however the number of attendees in the AfterTalk is limited. Therefore make sure to secure your spot by registering on the METSTRADE Connect platform.
This TechTalk is produced in association with The Superyacht Group and is brought to you by Pon Power.

Speaker: Mike Blake
Mike Blake is the President at Palladium Technologies. Michael has for over the last 50 years been on the “bleeding edge” of innovative technology, specifically in software and electronics development. His efforts have blended together both of these disciplines, creating complex solutions for NASA, the military weapons defense, Bell Labs, Large Super Computers, Air Traffic Control systems, Process Automation, and Artificial Intelligence, to name a few. He tried retiring in 1990, but within a year he started his ninth technology company, Palladium Technologies. At the same time he was designing and building an ultra-light displacement offshore sailing yacht, which while logging over 26,000 NM offshore, became the test platform for the creation of SiMON (Alarm, Monitoring and Control), which is the flagship product of Palladium. Michael has been able to combine his two passions of the sea and technology by providing advanced total technology solutions to the unique large yacht customers. His area of expertise includes software and electronics development, robotics, automated logistic, industrial automation, artificial intelligence (AI), hybrid technology systems, security systems, electronic power generation and management. He is a member of the Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers and the Society of Marine Surveyors, along with being a founding member of The International SeaKeepers Society.
