The METSTRADE sales team takes on a challenge

Monday, 13 April 2020

In January the METSTRADE team was strengthened by Tom Mous and shortly after Harold Mol joined him. Together they form our sales team, being the first point of contact for our exhibitors. They are no strangers to the RAI Amsterdam and know their way within the industry very well.

Beating heart of the industry

Harold Mol, who has previously worked for Aquatech, the tradeshow on water technology, has always loved the METSTRADE show: "METSTRADE to me is magic. During the show, the atmosphere in the RAI Amsterdam is incomparable to any other trade show I have seen. METSTRADE truly is the beating heart of the industry." Tom Mous agrees: "Before METSTRADE, I have worked for the HISWA Amsterdam Boat show and I have always loved the international atmosphere during METSTRADE. People from all around the world come to Amsterdam to do business in in just three days. There truly is nothing like it."

New layout

“The global market is growing rapidly and METSTRADE was in need of some extra floor space,” says Harold Mol. “With the expansion of Hall 5 of the RAI Amsterdam, the METSTRADE Show can grow, but a new layout was needed. Changes have been made to the general floorplan to facilitate this growth which will optimize the show’s potential for every exhibitor and visitor.” Changes include the Construction Material Pavilion moving from the Elicium to Hall 12, making room for the I-nnovationLAB (including DAME and Boat Builder Awards presentation) and the E-nnovationLAB. The USA and Canadian pavilions will move from hall 12 to hall 1 and hall 5. The Scandinavian pavilions (including Sweden, Finland, Norway & Denmark) will move from hall 12 to hall 7. The team is working hard to make sure that all the exhibitors get the best possible spot for their businesses.

Challenges ahead

The COVID-19 coronavirus has posed significant challenges for the industry and the METSTRADE team, explains Tom Mous: “We find ourselves in difficult times. A lot is going on in the world and we do realize that for a lot of companies, doing business is not the number one priority these days. Still, Harold, myself and the rest of the METSTRADE team are doing whatever we can to bring the industry together again in November. We are here to serve the marine industry and we will do whatever we can to help businesses to get going again and create new, valuable partnerships.” Harold Mol agrees: “METSTRADE remains the place to be for the industry and we are there to help exhibitors to make the show worth their while, for this year and for the many following editions of the METSTRADE show.”
