The orange buoyant smoke is a daylight signal flare that can be used on ships, lifeboats and life rafts.
This smoke signal emits a dense orange smoke visible from boats several kilometers away. It also provides a great visibility for search and rescue helicopters and airplanes. This signal flare should be attached behind or to the side of a lifebuoy at a minimum of five meters above the water line. When the lifebuoy is thrown overboard, the MOB light and smoke signal is pulled with it and as it leaves its bracket, it automatically emits light and smoke to attract attention to the person in the water. It can be used between ships, from shore to ship or ship to shore, and for rescuing personnel. It is a true “must have” emergency product for everyone to stay safe at sea. The line thrower is a robust device consisting of a waterproof plastic container with integral handle and trigger mechanism, a solid-fuel rocket and 300 meters of line. To activate it, remove a safety pin, hold the device steady and pull the trigger. It is approved globally and meets the latest SOLAS 74/96 regulations.
