Built for perfection: Inside Cantiere Rossini's purpose-designed refit sheds

When Cantiere Rossini was created, one thing was certain: temporary paint tents weren’t going to cut it. For yachts between 30 and 50 metres, the team wanted an environment that could guarantee consistency, precision and efficiency no matter the season. 

The result? Two identical, purpose-built refit sheds that have transformed the way the yard approaches complex refits and premium repaints.

A structure made to last:

Measuring 64m x 22m x 21.5m internally and constructed from sustainably sourced wood, the sheds are insulated with 15 cm of wood and rock wool. This isn’t just an environmental choice,  it’s a performance one. The thermal stability means that overnight, temperatures often drop by just a single degree, vastly outperforming temporary tent structures. For painting teams, that stability means predictable working conditions, greater efficiency and a consistently high-quality finish.

Controlled conditions, all year round:

Inside, advanced systems regulate temperature, humidity and airflow with precision. Dust and solvent extraction technology ensures a clean, safe space for applicators, while sloped flooring captures runoff for proper disposal. Continuous monitoring keeps every parameter within target ranges, reducing the risk of defects and delays.

At 28 metres high, the sheds can accommodate most yachts without mast removal,  a practical advantage that saves time, reduces costs and avoids the risks associated with de-rigging.

Sustainability that delivers efficiency:

Rossini’s environmental approach is built into the very fabric of the sheds. Heating is powered by seawater heat pumps and renewable energy sources, making them up to four times more energy efficient than temporary structures. The result is a reduced carbon footprint and significantly lower operating costs, a win for both the planet and clients’ budgets.

Project management without the chase:

Each shed is managed from its own dedicated project office, allowing full operational control and constant oversight of works in progress. The shipyard uses the Pinpoint project management platform, which keeps teams aligned in real time and ensures that captains, yacht managers and owners’ representatives get clear, timely updates without having to ask. This structured approach removes uncertainty and supports smooth, well-coordinated refits.
