Newtown, Wales – 30/10/25 — Makefast Group, a global leader in the design and manufacture of marine systems and hardware, will unveil its latest innovation — the Cassette Awning — at METSTRADE 2025 in Amsterdam.
Designed to deliver a seamless blend of form and function, the new Cassette Awning integrates effortlessly into a vessel’s superstructure, providing stylish shade and shelter with minimal visual impact. Constructed from lightweight aluminium and compatible with 12V or 24V systems, the awning can also be fitted with an optional solar-charged battery pack, offering flexible, energy-efficient operation without the need for additional wiring.
The design includes optional integrated LED lighting within the valance, creating ambient illumination for onboard comfort, and a range of mounting systems to accommodate different vessel layouts and installation requirements.
“The Cassette Awning marks a significant milestone in our mission to enhance onboard experiences through refined engineering,” said Chris Cooper, Sales Manager at Makefast Group. “With its slim profile, quiet operation, and new power and lighting options, it offers yacht builders a versatile solution that perfectly complements modern design aesthetics.”
Available in standard sizes, the awning’s fully enclosed cassette protects all components when retracted, ensuring durability and ease of maintenance. The system’s marine-grade materials and precision mechanics make it suitable for both production and custom builds.
Visitors to Stand 03.101 at METSTRADE can experience the Cassette Awning first-hand alongside Makefast’s complete range of awnings, carbon poles, sunroofs, and hydraulic systems, all engineered and manufactured in Newtown, Wales.
