NOMEN Cleat IV - the Platform Cleat – PURE Stainless – PURE Wood

NOMEN presents a further development of the new platform cleat (CLEAT IV) which offers a solution for both, bathing platforms or beach clubs as well as movable platforms that are installed in the hull of large yachts in order to close boat garages or equipment stores (e.g. for sports equipment). When the boat garage is opened, the door forms a platform at the side of the hull where boats can be moored. If the garage is closed, the cleat must be folded away or recessed so that it does not hinder the closing in the frame of the gate. No component of the cleat may therefore be above the deck level.
The new version, which was presented first at the METS 2024, is available in two standard versions, PURE Stainless und PURE Wood, as stainless or as stainless/wood-version, which is coated with the innovative and sustainable TESUMO-wood, www.tesumo.com. The design of the covering plate that conceals the cleat underneath, however has a more puristic design than the first version, hence the name. In addition, depending on the owner's wishes, it is possible to incorporate patterns, emblems, emblems or similar into the cover plate in order to individualize the surface.

The NOMEN platform cleat offers some advantages:
•	The NOMEN cleat is spring loaded and cannot fall from its resting position due to gravity when the platform is pivoted.
•	The NOMEN cleat is closed with a cover that is also spring loaded. This means it forms one level with the deck, regardless of whether the cleat is open or closed, and always looks good. The surface can be walked on barefoot at all times.
•	The cleat itself, the cover and all visible parts are made of stainless steel, while invisible and unloaded components are made of light synthetic material. This concept is more sustainable because a lot of weight is saved, which also has a positive effect on the overall weight of the yacht and saves transport costs.
•	All screws for assembly are hidden under an intermediate layer made of elastic material on which the cover rests softly.
•	Both, the cleat itself and the cover, are held in the open and closed positions by stainless steel springs.

The NOMEN cleat can be folded down while on sea. No lines can get caught during manoeuvring and no one can be injured. Thanks to its beauty, the Nomen cleat does not need to be built into the deck. It remains in place on deck, awaiting the moment it is needed.

Functioning: The gentle locking of the cleat arms in the two end positions is produced by an elastic ball which is located between the two arms. It deforms to respond to tension.
