The pods possess an optimized hydrodynamic shape which significantly reduces the drag and supports the counter-rotating propellers improving the overall horizontal thrust

TotalCommand is ZF’s advanced marine control system, offering improved clutch responsiveness, optimized control of proportional valves, and adaptive gear engagement. Designed by Giorgetto and Fabrizio Giugiaro, it integrates CAN-bus technology for up to six control stations. It enables complex maneuvers like 360° rotation and parallel docking, with JMS® regulating engine speed and transmission engagement for smooth operation.

Plug and Play for more sustainability

Thanks to its new marine hybrid module, ZF simplifies electrification of new and existing ship designs. The key feature of the overall solution is a newly developed supporting frame – which, unlike the usual setup, dispenses with the need for a separate base for the e-motor and for an offset-adjustment coupling. This plug-and-play approach, which is unrivaled in the market, reduces installation space and considerably simplifies the installation of the module and the maintenance of the e-motor.
