The global yacht market has been changing rapidly in the past few years. Dealing with this, it is vital for businesses to stay ahead of the latest trends and implement new technologies in order to gain competitive advantages in their market.
At METSTRADE 2017, we spoke to Andrea Venezian, Head of Engineering at Silver Arrows Marine. Silver Arrows Marine is responsible for the last stage of the construction chain in the delivery of luxury motor yachts. In this short interview with METSTRADE, Venezian pointed out the capital trends that he sees in yacht manufacturing.
There is no escaping new technology for the boating industry
Andrea explains that “one trend is that, in terms of product, we are seeing the necessity to bring new clients to the market, for example, in my aspect, which is the production of boats, there are a lot of new technologies that need to come in. So IT will definitely be the future of the boating industry and especially for the product itself.”
Selection of quality is happening
In Andrea’s opinion, “the other trend that I can see is that the market is now focusing a lot on producing, but forgetting a bit about the quality […] BUsually when this happens, it means that out of certain times, there is a sort of selection going on, so I am very curious to see what is going to happen in the near future.”
Network is everything
Andrea also addressed the importance of staying connected in the current business world and more specifically, in the marine industry.
“In the world where we are today, you need to be connected.. You need to know who is in the business, what is happening. You need to be interconnected.”
