Rim Drive Technology develops, manufactures, and sells Rim Drive motors from 0.5 to 75kW for the private, commercial, industrial, and underwater applications. In order to guarantee and monitor the quality of our products, our production, R&D and office is located in the Netherlands.

Our motors are 100% electric and can be used as either main propulsion or secondary drives. In addition to motors, Rim Drive Technology provides a wide range of customizable complementary products such as batteries.

These motors are available as POD-, steerable POD-, and as bow thruster solutions.

Entry Level Outboard and Steerable Outboard

Meet the Entry Level Outboard, the perfect solution for operators who are looking for an affordable solution with all functionalities they are looking for. The motor controller is included and will be delivered separately.  

The trim and tilt bracket is suitable for all standard steering cylinders available on the market. Therefore, it is also easy to install for refitting your boat! The bracket contains five trimming positions to achieve the most efficient way of consuming your onboard power.


Steerable outboard 
Meet the revolutionary Steerable Outboard, the ultimate solution for unmatched maneuverability and control on the water. 
This unique motor offers 360-degree propulsive power, with only the underwater housing steering while everything above water remains stationary. Thanks to its smart design, the Steerable Outboard can be directly mounted on existing outboard transoms, with no need for additional steering cylinders or complex installations. Compact yet powerful, all technology is neatly integrated into the outboard, including controllers and wiring. This motor is more than just powerful – it’s a complete plug-and-play solution.

The tunnel set is easy to integrate into the boat. The bow thruster tunnels are easy to install due to the various mounting options. The tunnel set is specially designed for difficult conditions where the bow thruster remains protected.
