SuperYacht Sustainability Route

Superyacht sustainability route

This year marks the return of the Superyacht Sustainability Route for its next edition, a collaborative effort between the Water Revolution Foundation and METSTRADE as strategic partners.

The Water Revolution Foundation emerged within the yachting community at the METSTRADE event more than five years ago, driven by a shared vision to protect our oceans. Together, we are advancing sustainability in the yachting industry through commitment and collaboration, taking steps to reduce our environmental impact.

The route will guide decision-makers at the show, showcasing sustainable solutions verified through rigorous third-party Life Cycle Assessments (LCAs) overseen by Water Revolution Foundation. These solutions, aiding efficiency, reducing environmental impact, promoting corporate social responsibility, and minimising waste, are accessible for new and existing yachts across their life cycle phases.

Verified solutions offer numerous benefits, expanding their reach to influential industry figures, including yacht designers, shipyards, project managers, and captains. Verification status allows companies to display a sustainability seal, assuring stakeholders of third-party validation. They receive comprehensive reports with optimisation recommendations and gain exposure through tools like the Yacht Environmental Transparency Index (YETI). This process keeps companies ahead of evolving regulations.

Third-party verification ensures reliable, scientifically-proven information is centralised in an industry database. It prevents false environmental claims from being prosecuted.

The Superyacht Sustainability Route signals the importance of third-party verification for environmental claims. METSTRADE's Superyacht Pavilion is the first to introduce such stringent requirements, promoting genuine sustainable solutions.
