Superyacht Sustainability Route
This year marks the fourth edition of the Superyacht Sustainability Route, a continued collaboration between the Water Revolution Foundation and Metstrade as strategic partners.
The Water Revolution Foundation first emerged at the 2018 Metstrade event, driven by a shared commitment to protect our oceans. Together, we are pushing the boundaries of sustainability in the yachting industry, working to reduce environmental impact through innovation and collaboration.
The route will once again guide decision-makers at the show, highlighting sustainable solutions that have undergone rigorous third-party Life Cycle Assessments (LCAs) overseen by the Water Revolution Foundation. These verified solutions focus on improving efficiency, reducing environmental impact, enhancing corporate social responsibility, and minimizing waste for both new and existing yachts throughout their life cycle. This year's Metstrade marks the return of the Superyacht Sustainability Route, a collaborative effort between the Water Revolution Foundation and Metstrade as strategic partners. The aim is to inspire the superyacht sector with new and innovative ways to be more sustainable at every step.
The Water Revolution Foundation emerged within the yachting community at Metstrade over five years ago, driven by a shared vision to revolutionise ocean preservation and sustainable practices.

Life Cycle Assessments
The Superyacht Sustainability Route will showcase sustainable solutions verified through rigorous third-party Life Cycle Assessments (LCAs) overseen by the Water Revolution Foundation. These solutions, aiding efficiency, reducing environmental impact, promoting corporate social responsibility, and minimising waste, are accessible for new and existing yachts across their life cycle phases.
Verified solutions offer numerous benefits, expanding their reach to influential industry figures, including yacht designers, shipyards, project managers, and captains. Verification status allows companies to display a sustainability seal, assuring stakeholders of third-party validation. They receive comprehensive reports with optimisation recommendations and gain exposure through tools like the Yacht Environmental Transparency Index (YETI). This process keeps companies ahead of evolving regulations.
Third-party verification ensures reliable, scientifically-proven information is centralised in an industry database. It prevents false environmental claims from being prosecuted.
The Superyacht Sustainability Route signals the importance of third-party verification for environmental claims. Metstrade's Superyacht Zone is the first to introduce such stringent requirements, promoting genuine sustainable solutions.
