TU Delft Hydro Motion Team

The TU Delft Hydro Motion Team is a team of 23 multidisciplinary ambitious students from the TU Delft. As the Hydro Motion Team they want to inspire the maritime sector to accelerate the transition to green energy. By pushing the boundaries of technology, sustainability and engineering, they will demonstrate that it is possible to design, build and race with, a foiling hydrogen-powered boat in just one year.
This year they strive to demonstrate the applicability of new technologies. They will do this by taking the next step in bridging the gap between ‘technology of the future’ and the current norm by building an innovative hydrogen-powered boat. Hydrogen is an energy carrier with high endurance and only water as emission. Because of this they believe hydrogen is best suited for the maritime industry. To put our boat to the test they will participate in the Open Sea Class of the Monaco Energy Boat Challenge. During METSTRADE 2022 they will explain why they believe hydrogen is the future for the maritime industry and demonstrate two hydrofoils, which are important to defeat their competitors who sail on battery at the speed challenge.
