Have you kept our product development efforts rolling through the challenges of 2020? Were you originally booked to attend METSTRADE 2020?
Then don’t miss out on the special DAME R&D Excellence in Adversity Award which is open to any product new to market or any significant R&D project conducted by an equipment manufacturer worked on between 1 January-28 October 2020, that has been progressed despite the constraints of COVID-19.
This one-off competition will be judged by the same team of experts that would usually gather to assess the global-leading DAME Awards, headed new DAME Chair, Andre Hoek. The Jury will meet virtually this to assess all entries and find one outstanding example that illustrates ongoing design-focus and investment through COVID lock-down. The Jury will also take into account design-led initiatives that have improved the safety of the business concerned or to serve the community in which it is based. The scope for entry is wide-ranging, covering all sizes of company and marine product sectors. The Jury will use analytical assessment, as well as emotional response, to find the DAME R&D Excellence in Adversity Award winner and also name any commended entries.
The last day for entries is Wednesday 28 October 2020. The winner will be announced at the virtual METSTRADE Connect event on 10 December 2020 and will be publicised through METSTRADE’s extensive communication channels.
Submission to the DAME R&D Excellence in Adversity Award is free and open to any company that had committed to METSTRADE 2020 as an exhibitor. Specific Terms and Conditions of Participation and the online application form can be found via the METSTRADE Exhibitor Portal.
Qualifying products entered in this special one-off award will also be eligible for consideration in the DAME 2021 30th Anniversary Awards, which is scheduled to run as a part of METSTRADE 2021 next November.
