In addition to offering showcases by a record number of exhibitors, the METSTRADE Show, which runs from Tuesday 19 to Thursday 21 November at RAI Amsterdam, will also feature an extraordinary selection of learning opportunities. A dedicated programme spread across three stages on the METSTRADE exhibition floor will cover a wide range of inspiring technical and engineering topics.
As the largest annual B2B gathering of the global leisure marine industry, the METSTRADE Show is famous for showcasing all the very latest products on offer in this innovative sector. In addition to the opportunity to meet some 1650 exhibitors from 55 countries, the many thousands of visitors also come to Amsterdam for partner conferences and seminars organized by the likes of The Superyacht Group, HISWA, NMEA, PIANC RecCom, the Global Marina Institute (GMI ), Yachtmedia and Studio Pegorari. A third way in which industry professionals can learn more about what is happening in their business world is via the wide range of interesting and inspiring topics presented on three stages located on the exhibition floor: the I-nnovationLAB, the E-nnovationLAB and the Construction in Process Stage.
The sessions held on the I-nnovation Lab Stage across the three days of the METSTRADE Show will be organized or endorsed by Yachtmedia, MaterialDistrict, IBI and ICOMIA, to name a few. The presentations will cover various fascinating engineering innovations, including a unique new approach to adaptive manufacturing or composite products for the marine industry via 3D printing by the engineering wizards from the Dutch group Fiberneering and a new hull innovation from the Sweden-based company Petestep which lowers energy consumption and increases comfort for planing boat hulls by redirecting the spray flow. Other engineering presentations will include research on hydrofoils by the Maritime Research Institute Netherlands (MARIN) with a focus on sport and commercial applications, and new sustainable methods for the building of luxury yachts by the Dutch manufacturer Vaan Yachts. Finally, visitors will also be treated to more general themes, such as a discussion of digital disruption in the industry by German company BrandUp Factory.
The METSTRADE E-nnovation Lab will focus on electronic, electric and hybrid solutions in the sector, exploring a range of technical challenges and successes. Several of the topics will revolve around engines and motors, zoals hybrid propulsion on sailing yachts, presented by Oceanco, the electrification of charter boats, discussed by Ocean Volt electric powertrains for heavy-duty vessels, introduced by the engineering corporation Danfoss Editron, and adapted hydrodynamics in the service of improved electric propulsion, presented by the experts from Hull Vane. Other highlights will include a talk on innovative battery technology by Calder Marine Enterprises.
Located in the METSTRADE Construction Material Pavilion, the Construction in Process Stage will serve as an interactive platform for CMP exhibitors to explain their production process, organize technical sessions, demonstrate new solutions and share in-depth knowledge with narrower audiences. The sessions will cover a broad selection of materials and techniques, zoals epoxy solutions - PRO-SET high-temperature laminating systems by Wessex Resins & Adhesives and sustainable production methods by the epoxy composites conglomerate Gurit. Diab International will give live demonstrations or sandwich composite infusion while SAERTEX will explain how to produce laminates through vacuum infusion using its products.
