So, it seems we are all a little bit undecided about Millennials (those aged around 18-35). Research suggests that this generation will finish off the boat ownership model as we know it, with resultant impacts on the marine equipment market. However in his Breakfast Briefing this morning Mark D Schwabero, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Brunswick Corporation, said the data doesn't agree and exactly the same number of people of the Millennial age group are participating now as per previous generations.
Who is right?
Are Millennials industry killers or is it more the case that they are as interested as anyone in getting on the water but need us to provide them with new and more relevant ways of doing so, including ownership?
